Kiann Chow

Violin II

Currently a member of the Hong Kong Sinfonietta and co-founder of the Romer String Quartet and Duo Volce (harmonica-violin), Kiann Chow began her violin studies at Yip’s Children’s Choral and Performing Arts Centre with Li Wing-shun and Professor Zheng Shi-sheng from the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. She later received her Master of Arts in Performance with distinction and a Licentiate Diploma in Teaching (LRAM) from the Royal Academy of Music, London, under the tutelage of Professor Mayumi Fujikawa.

 

As an active musician, Chow has performed at prestigious concert venues across America, Europe, and Asia, including Carnegie Hall and Avery Fisher Hall in New York, Royal Albert Hall in London, and Toppan Hall in Tokyo. She has collaborated and performed with leading artists, including film composer Hans Zimmer, violinist Dan Zhu, jazz pianist Joyce Cheung, and the Borromeo String Quartet, among others. Additionally, she recorded the Royal Academy of Music’s album of Frank Zappa’s music as a member of the Academy Manson Ensemble in London.

 

Dedicated to music education, Chow serves as a violin tutor at Yip’s Children’s Choral and Performing Arts Centre and is a member of the Permanent Professional Adjudicators for the Hong Kong Promotion of Performing Arts Association.
